About Us

John T. Kramer

Creator, Writer

Upon earning a degree in Sociology from Loyola University, Chicago, with the intention of embarking on a career as a novelist, I took a job in the Second City bar staff for what I thought would be only a few months, but which has instead stretched into twenty-five years. During that time I’ve managed to write a few books (alas, all still as yet unpublished), marry the girl of my dreams (Peggy Miller), and produce two fertilized ovum which have managed to grow into two teen-aged young men (Morgan and Ian.) We all live together in a north shore suburb of Chicago, sharing our home with an infestation of cats and dogs.

Working at the Second City all these years has turned me into a cracker-jack bartender with a sense of humor honed to a deadly edge by the comedic wit of a generation of the funniest people in the world. It's also where I met my friend and Second City co-worker Aaron Sjoholm.

Not content with the massive amount of pain I’ve received from the mainstream literary world, I’ve recently taken out a second mortgage on my soul by entering the screenwriting trade. With my writing partner, Aaron Sjoholm, I’ve completed the major motion picture screenplay, The Knight Owl’s Heir, which has been met with wild reviews from our family and friends -- while at the same time being completely snubbed by three major screenwriting competitions.

Happily, the smaller screens of the Internet have been kinder to my writing endeavors, allowing me to embark upon a new career path with an ever expanding horizon – unless this is all being done with a Green screen and I’m about to walk into another wall.

Onward!

Aaron Sjoholm

Writer/Actor/Director

Aaron Sjoholm was a founding ensemble member of the Chicago sketch and improv groups Anton Chekhov’s Bastard Child, Peel the Onion, The Meek, and The Revenge Brothers, also having directed several other comedy troupes. Most recently he was in the cast of “Starship Improvise.”
In addition to writing and directing for Britethorn, he has appeared in the roles of "Democrat" in the Democrat/Republican series, as Marx in "Marx and Sun" and he is the voice of The American Ranger in the series of the same name.
Aaron spends his time now focusing on writing and small-scale video projects. He has completed one screenplay (with co-writer John Kramer), was a featured Secret Service extra in the film “Death of a President,” received a BFA in Theater from Marquette University, and enjoys many geeky things.
He has a cat named Captain Murder, was a Knight Templar in another life (and possibly in this one as well), and has a wardrobe which hasn't been updated since Y2k was all the rage.
In the event of a Zombie Attack, Aaron's the guy you want to be with. Just make sure to bring along a bottle of Jack.

Sean Gransee

Web Designer and Developer

Sean is an over achiever who spends way too much time in front of a computer screen. He is constantly in trouble for taking on too many projects requiring too many hours-- but somehow manages to get things done anyway. He's working for Britethorn on a pro bono basis, but when we get enough money to build a starship, he's got dibs on being our Scotty.
He's also John Kramer's nephew (blood will tell!)
